A itinerary to reach the Puigmal d'Err, 2909m, 2nd highest peak in the Pyrénées-Orientales after the Carlit (2921m), and including the Puigmal de Llo (2767m) and the small Puigmal de Sègre (2810m).

At an altitude of approximately 1,384 metres, Err offers leisure activities for young and old and sports for those who love the outdoors. It is necessary to be attentive to the environment because many marmots are visible from the beginning of the hike as well as herds of isards which merge with the rocky outcrops. In addition, on the ridge, there is the possibility of seeing the griffon vultures that roam the mountain in search of food from close up.
This mountain village offers both a rich heritage in tasting local products and cultural visits, especially with the parish church of St Genis, on the heights of the city. Right next to him is the Chapel of the Virgin Mary. The village's water troughs can also be considered as part of the heritage and allow visitors to discover the city in a fun way.

THAT' S WORTH A VISIT!

Le Puigmal: "Le Puigmal d'Err culminates at 2910 metres and is thus the second highest peak in the Pyrénées-Orientales after the Carlit (2921 metres). It offers a vast panorama of the Cerdanya and the Nuria Valley in Spain. Is the generally accepted translation of "bad mountain" the right one? On closer inspection, it does not really reflect the situation: nothing dramatic has ever happened in Puigmal, except for a few avalanches for which it does not have exclusive rights... Some speculate that "Mal" could mean "massive", which would explain why two neighbouring peaks have the same name: Puigmal de Sègre and Puigmal de Llo..." (excerpt from: Stories of Err.
