THAT' S WORTH A VISIT!
Sant Martí d'Envalls: An important Pyrenean route to the Aude valley followed the glacial valley of Angostrina. A hospital (monastic hospital space) welcomed travellers here while exorcising a pagan site rich in ancestral pre-Christian beliefs.
The Angoustrine spinning mill: From 1870 to 1970, the Angostrina spinning mill testifies to the slow erosion of the ancestral habits of the Cerdanes. Originally, the inhabitants of the two Cerdagnes and Capcir wore the wool of their sheep. For 1kg of wool, they would leave with 900g of yarn. At the end of the 1960s, demand disappeared, leading to closure.
The international transhumance path and cultural heritage: "Following the situation brought about by the Treaty of the Pyrenees (1659) and by virtue of the 1754 transaction, the herds of the Spanish enclave of Llívia have free passage through the territory of Angoustrine, to and from the Carlit pastures. The inhabitants of Angoustrine are required to alternately leave the crossing points in a beret, every other year and in accordance with the passage of the said herds".
